"Mom, I want to go to college to be a video editor".

"Tony, there aren't any jobs like that in NJ. You would have to go to NY or LA".

"Fine, I'll go to college to study Business and do that to play the "safe route".

​

I lasted one semester studying business.

 

I left business school and obtained my Associate's Degree in Film Studies at my local community college. 

​

After graduating, I started at Company3 as a VFX Assistant. Quickly realized VFX wasn't where I wanted to end up. I took the biggest leap of faith and marketed myself as a Freelance Video Editor / Assistant Editor. After two months I landed my first gig at Droga5. From there, one thing led to the next. Eight years later I built Scharko Edit which transitioned into Scharko Post. I handle editing, conforming, light color correction, basic graphics and animation, sound design, conforms, and shipping final deliverables across various media outlets / uses.

I've edited just about every type of project that exists in our field of work. Case Studies, Rip Films, Pitch Films, New Biz Pitches, Commercials, Short Films, Social Campaigns, TikTok Reels, Instagram Reels.

I've worked with about every reputable agency / production company / post houses. Droga5, Deutsch, Arnold, Futura Collective, Studio RM, Greenpoint Pictures, Roam Editorial, Baron & Baron, Mssng Peces, Joan Studios, BBDO, Hogarth, Grey, McCann, Saatchi & Saatchi, Havas, Johannes Leonardo, Brooklyn Brothers, Final Cut, Northern Lights, Whitehouse Post, Big Sky Editorial, Bikini Editorial, Kyle Editorial, and Homestead Editorial.

After eight hard working years I realized this industry is so small to not know each other.
